Tim Moss, CEO of the United Kingdom (UK) Intellectual Property Office (IPO) spoke at the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA) virtual autumn conference. He said the UK’s intellectual property (IP) system “is one of the worlds best and that will not change after the 31 December” (end of the Brexit transition period).

Whilst speaking at the conference Tim Moss emphasised that the IPO’s preparations for leaving the European Union (EU) have “made sure that we continue to provide high levels of world class protection while seeking new opportunities for economic growth”.

When the transition period ends EU trade marks will be given a UK clone equivalent. The UK IPO will maintain a relationship with Europe.
